The Purpose
Mental illness and trauma should exclude no-one from experiencing the love, welcome and acceptance at the heart of the Christian faith.
Meet Susanna
Throughout many years of NHS work and Christian ministry, it has been heart-breaking to regularly encounter people, including leaders, who have felt excluded from their faith community because of mental illness or experience of trauma.
This is why Renewing Minds exists!
I am a qualified Mental Health Nurse and therapist, and have rich experience in supporting individuals living with severe and enduring mental health needs, and complex trauma.
I have many years of experience in local church ministry and leadership, and of working with victims of crime with a national charity. I hold a Graduate Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission. I also have a special interest supporting churches in preventing and responding well to faith-based abuse and hold a Master's degree in Understanding Domestic and Sexual Violence. My experience extends to providing training and support in Asia to mission partners and the communities they support.
Perhaps most importantly, the training I deliver is rooted in my own lived experience of mental health difficulties, trauma, and my personal Christian faith.

We facilitate training for many churches of all shapes and sizes including Anglican, Baptist, URC, Pentecostal, Vineyard, Ecumenical Partnerships and Independent Fellowships.
We provide learning events for parachurch organisations such as Youth for Christ, Street Pastors, Hope Into Action UK, Bible Colleges and for overseas mission partners.
